Calling High School Anatomy Teachers
Where are all the anatomy teachers? Well, that is a good question. Anatomy in almost all states is not a part of the core curriculum, so we are not nearly as widespread as Biology or Chemistry teachers. Join us. Pictured below is one of Hastings High School's classroom ceilings in Houston, TX. Students created and labeled anatomy diagrams on ceiling tiles and then the instructor displayed them.
Top Ten Muscles for Your Anatomy Class
With over 656 muscles in the body, we know teachers don't have time to teach all them. We surveyed high school Anatomy and Physiology teachers from around the country to learn what muscles teachers teach. With the results of the survey, we created a top ten list for the most common muscles taught in the classroom. Between 94% and 100% of teachers surveyed teach the following muscles, biceps brachii, triceps brachii, trapezius, deltoid, pectoralis major, gluteus maximus, sartorius, rectus abdominus, intercostals, and sternocleidomastoid. There were three other muscles that didn't make the top ten. Still, a strong majority of teachers teach the temporalis, zygomaticus, and orbicularis oculi.
Educational Grants: Getting Them
We want to help you get grants by giving you ideas and options to get grants for your schools and classrooms. Here are a few tips to think of when writing a grant for classroom materials. You must state a need for the school, identify the student population that would benefit, and list a measurable goal. It is always good to give a narrative of all the activities and multiple uses for the educational materials. Also, some examples of a measurable goal are improved test scores, a higher graduation rate, and a greater inclusion of low level students in class activities.
